FAETEDA was established on November 29, 1996 with the aim of structuring the sector and becoming a essential interlocutor before public administrations, at state and European level.

Throughout his career, he has carried out very important work in favor of the performing arts.
It has carried out various studies, workshops, seminars, forums and debates on topics of interest to the sector. It has also launched its own projects, such as CHIVATOS, MERCARTES and UBICARTE.
In addition, it has contributed to the promotion of initiatives, such as the General Theater Plan, the creation of the Academy of Performing Arts and the Iberescena program, or the reduction of VAT on tickets to cultural shows from 21% to 10%.
Likewise, throughout 2020, during the health crisis generated by COVID-19, he led the fight for better conditions for the cultural sector and, especially, the performing arts.
FAETEDA plays an important role in cultural policies
FAETEDA plays an important role in the cultural policies implemented by the Spanish State, given its membership in the Executive Committee of the State Council for the Performing Arts and Music and in the Joint Monitoring Commission of the PLATEA Program.
It also has an important international presence: since its inception, it has been part of Pearle* – Live Performance Europe, European Federation of Live Arts, an association that represents more than 10,000 European cultural organizations, of which it currently holds its vice-presidency.
